
Jill
Hartman returns for her second season as Assistant Athletic Trainer
at Randolph College.
Hartman earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training and applied exercise science from Methodist University in 2005. She then attended Wingate University where she worked in the University's Athletic Training department as the head trainer for men's soccer, men's lacrosse, men's swimming and women's swimming while earning her masters degree in business administration.
Hartman has professional certifications and licensures in both North Carolina and Virginia, while being a member of the National Athletic Trainers, Mid-Atlantic Trainers, North Carolina Athletic Trainers and Virginia Athletic Trainers associations.
Susan
Johnson has been with the WildCats for the past 18 years working as
the department administrative assistant.
As office manager, Johnson is responsible for all administrative duties for the WildCat Athletic programs including transportation and lodging for teams, budget requests and scheduling.
Johnson graduated from nearby E.C. Glass High School and received her degree from the University of Richmond.
Athletic Trainer Carolyn Sarson came to Randolph College
in 1990 with years of professional experience both at the high school
and college level.
She received her bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Penn State University and her master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Virginia.
Before coming to Randolph, Sarson served as the head athletic trainer at Sweet Briar College and as adjunct professor and assistant athletic trainer at Lynchburg College.
In addition to her current responsibilities as athletic trainer, Sarson is an associate professor of physical education, supervises the Student Athlete Mentor Program, and coordinates the successful Big Brothers and Big Sisters WildCat Sports Day.
Vince
Scalzo enters his second year serving as the Sports Information Director
for WildCats Athletics.
Scalzo graduated from King's College (Pa.) where he received his bachelor's degree in communications and english writing. While at King's, Scalzo served as assistant sports information director for two years.
Scalzo is responsible for writing news releases and feature stories about Randolph's teams and student-athletes, publication of recruiting brochures, coordination of team photography needs and statistical compilation/distribution to the NCAA and ODAC. He also manages the official website of Randolph Athletics.
Scalzo is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and is also a member of the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
