Lynchburg, VA -- Roanoke College took advantage of their scoring opportunities and held on to a 2-0 win over host Randolph College in ODAC men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

With the win Randolph drops to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Roanoke improves to 9-3-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The WildCats remain in fourth place while the Maroons are now tied for first place in the ODAC standings.

Roanoke got on the board first off a cross from Michael Walker that went off one of Randolph's defensemen and into the net giving the Maroons a 1-0 lead with just under three minutes left in the first period. Randolph would have several chances to score, including one shot by Eric van Staalduinen off the post, but could not find the back of the net. Chris Collins would add some insurance to the lead when he kicked home a goal off an assist from Taylor Johnston at the 81:36 mark of the second period extending the lead to 2-0.

Roanoke outshot Randolph 16-8, while holding a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. WildCats goalie Aaron Humphreys had nine saves in net, while Roanoke keeper Adam Thompson tallied four saves for the Maroons picking up the shutout.

The WildCats will return to action Saturday when they travel to Bridgewater College for an ODAC contest at 3:00 pm.
