Bridgewater, VA -- Shane O'Donnell scored the game-winning goal with just under four minutes remaining in the game as Bridgewater College posted a 2-1 win over visiting Randolph College in ODAC men's soccer action late Saturday afternoon.
With the loss Randolph drops to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in conference play. Bridgewater improves to 5-7-3 and 1-4-2 in conference play. Randolph remains in fourth place in the conference standings.
Bridgewater's Ivan Barisic scored the games first goal at the 7:34 mark of the first period. Bridgewater would take a 1-0 lead into the half. After a scoreless first 35 mintues of the second period, Randolph's Chris Geyer would find the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1. The tie was short-lived though as O'Donnell would net the game-winner just seven minutes later giving Bridgewater the 2-1 win.
WildCats goalie Aaron Humphreys made two saves in net. Bridgewater goalie Zane Lineberry had two saves in the game. Randolph outshot Bridgewater 12-8, while holding a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The WildCats will return to action Tuesday when they welcome Lynchburg College for an ODAC contest at 4:00 pm.
