WildCats unable to find many scoring chances

Fayetteville, NC -- Sean Gregory scored two goals to help lead Methodist College to a 4-0 win over visiting Randolph College in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
With the loss Randolph falls to 7-10 overall, while Methodist improves to 9-8 on the season.
Gregory netted his first goal just over two minutes into the game off a rebound that hit the post. Evan Monteiro then extended the lead to 2-0 when he put home a ball that was deflected by Wildcats goalie Aaron Humphreys at the 3:43 mark of the first period.
James Gunderson would find the back of the net to give Methodist a 3-0 lead early in the second period. Four mintues later Gregory would then add his second goal of the game off an assist from Mike Demara to make the lead 4-0 with 30 minutes to play in the game. From there the Methodist defense tightened and the WildCats were unable to find many scoring opportunities.
Humphreys had nine saves in the loss for Randolph, while Kyle Beach made two saves in net for Methodist. Methodist outshot Randolph 26-5, while holding a 10-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The WildCats will conclude their conference slate Tuesday when they travel to Washington and Lee University for an ODAC matchup at 4:00 pm. The WildCats stand fifth in the conference standings heading into the last conference game.
