Lynchburg, VA -- Donald Hart III netted the game-winning goal at the 97:17 mark in the first overtime as Lynchburg College outlasted Randolph College in the quarterfinals of the ODAC men's soccer championship tournament.

With the loss, Randolph's season ends at 7-12 overall. Lynchburg improves to 14-2-3 overall and advances to the semi-final round on Wednesday.

The two teams battled through the first period deadlocked, with each team having several scoring chances. In the second period WildCats goalie sophomore Aaron Humphreys made several outstanding saves to keep the game tied at 0-0. WildCats sophomore Jonathon Bolton then had an opportunity to score late in the second period when he broke free from the Hornets defense, but goalie Matt Sturdivant narrowly beat Bolton to the ball and kept the game scoreless.

In overtime Hart III would receive a pass from Cam Smith and take a shot from the right of the box. Humphreys would make a diving attempt and deflect the ball, but the ball continued to the goal and found the back of the net.

Humphreys finished with seven saves in the contest. Lynchburg outshot Randolph 30-1, while holding a 11-1 advantage in corner kicks. The loss overshadowed an outstanding effort by the WildCats, who graduate one player from this year's squad.
