Lynchburg, VA – Bridgewater College recorded their third win of the season tonight in a 3-0 victory over Randolph College in men’s soccer.

Austin Stemper’s shot off of a crossing pass from Chris Thomas in the 30th minute hit the top of the right post and ricocheted into the back of the net to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. The WildCats had five shots in the first half but were held scoreless.

The WildCats controlled the ball during much of the second half and out shot Bridgewater 6-3, but it was the Eagles that connected on their offensive opportunities. Thomas beat the WildCat defense to score in the 69th minute to extend the Eagles’ lead to two goals. Thomas was involved in the Eagles third goal as well, registering an assist on Shane O’Donnell’s goal with twelve seconds remaining in the game.

Eddy Ratianarivo finished the game with a team-high six shots (three on goal) for the WildCats. Randolph is now 2-7-1 on the year.

Goalkeeper Zane Lineberry recorded his first shut out of the season for the Eagles and tallied six saves. The Eagles are now 3-11 overall and 1-5 in the ODAC.
