Penalty kick goal in overtime gives Wesley the win

Ashland, VA -- At the 101:06 mark of the first overtime, Kyle Lawrence netted a penalty kick goal to lift Wesley College over Randolph College 2-1 in the first day of the Randolph-Macon College tournament on Saturday.
With the loss Randolph slips to 0-1 overall, while Wesley improves to 1-0.
Ayo Adedeji started the scoring for Wesley with a goal at the 35:36 mark of the first period with an assist from Jason Norris. The WildCats would answer and tie the score at 1-1 with an unassisted goal from Hong Moon at the 38:58 mark.
The teams would battle through the second period deadlocked at 1-1. In the first overtime, Lawrence would net the game-winning goal off of a penalty kick giving Wesley the 2-1 win.
Randolph outshot Wesley 10-8, while Wesley had a slight advantage in corner kicks at 4-1. WildCat goalie David Humphreys had three saves in net. Nick Talarico had four saves for Wesley.
Randolph will return to action Sunday in the second day of the Randolph-Macon College tournament with a match against Catholic University.
