North Carolina Wesleyan scores five unanswered goals in the win

Lynchburg, VA -- Owen White netted three goals, all in the second period, as North Carolina Wesleyan posted a 5-1 win over host Randolph College in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
With the loss Randolph drops to 1-4 overall, while North Carolina Wesleyan improves to 5-1 overall.
Randolph would strike first at the 40:48 mark of the first period when Eddy Ratianrivo broke through the Battling Bishops defense and darted past goalie Porir Gudnason for a walk in goal giving Randolph the early 1-0 lead. Robert Goldnetz was credited with an assist on the play.
White would answer right before the end of the period with a goal at the 42:25 mark off an assist from Arkadius Trochowski. North Carolina Wesleyan would then score four unanswered goals, the first by White at 47:36 of the second period off an assist from Christopher Helms. An unassisted goal by Danny Persson followed at the 49:45 mark of the second period extending the lead to 3-1. Ousman Sarr would then find the back of the net off a penalty kick at the 57:18 mark, and White would finish off the scoring with his thrid goal of the game off an assist from Benjamin Schmedes at the 61:27 mark of the second period.
North Carolina Wesleyan outshot Randolph 12-5, while holding a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. WildCat goalie Aaron Humphreys had seven saves, while Porir finished with two saves in the game.
The WildCats will return to action Monday when they travel to Averett University for a match at 4:00 pm.
