Lynchburg, VA -- Johnathon Bolton's goal right before the end of the first period proved to be the difference as Randolph College posted a 1-0 win over visting Hood College Wednesday night in men's soccer action.
With the win Randolph improves to 3-4 overall, while Hood falls to 3-4 overall.
Bolton broke free right before the buzzer sounded at the 44:58 mark of the first period and found the back of the net off an assist from Zach MacDougall to give the Wildcats all the scoring they would need on way to the win. Eddy Ratianarivo led Randolph with seven shots, four being on goal.
Aaron Humphreys was outstanding in net for Randolph with five saves picking up the shutout.
The Wildcats will return to action Saturday when they host Guilford College for a game at 4:00 pm.
