Lynchburg, VA -- Eddy Ratianarivo scored the game winning goal at the 97:49 mark in overtime as Randolph College posted a huge 2-1 win over Guilford College Saturday afternoon in ODAC men's soccer action.
With the win Randolph improves to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Guilford drops to 0-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Hunter Wilson struck first for Guilford with a goal at the 1:20 mark of the first period giving the Quakers a 1-0 lead. Nick Hudson would answer for Randolph when he connect on a corner kick that found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 early in the second period.
The teams would battle evenly throughout the remainder of the second period and into the first overtime. From there Ratianarivo's heroics lifted the Wildcats to their first conference win of the season.
Goalie Aaron Humphreys was solid in net yet again with four saves. Peter Truitt had 10 saves in net for Guilford.
The Wildcats will return to action Saturday when they host Eastern Mennonite for a game at 1:00 pm.
