Randolph splits tri-meet with win over Salem and loss against Bridgewater

Lynchburg, VA -- The Randolph College women's swim team secured its first win of the 2008-2009 season with a 51-31 win over Salem College on Friday night. The WildCats suffered a 65-29 loss against Bridgewater College, while Bridgewater also posted a 71-22 win over Salem in the tri-meet.
With the split Randolph improves to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in conference meets. Bridgewater improves to 3-2 overall and 3-2 in the ODAC following its two wins. Salem College drops to 0-4 overall on the year.
Brittany Fox led the WildCats with first place finishes in the 1000 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Rachel Carlson was equally as impressive taking first in the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly. Bobbie LaFleur finished second in the 200 freestyle.
The WildCats will return to the pool for their final home meet of the season on Tuesday when they host Emory and Henry College for an ODAC meet at 7:00 pm.
