Women's Swimming records first ODAC win of the season

Randolph placed first in nine of the eleven events in the meet

Lynchburg, VA -- The Randolph College Swim team picked up its first conference win of the season as the WildCats posted a 55-33 win over visiting Emory and Henry College on Tuesday night. It marked the final home swim meet of the 2008-2009 season.

With the win Randolph improves to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Emory and Henry drops to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in ODAC meets.

Bobbie LaFleur led the WildCats with first place finishes in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Rachel Carlson had a strong showing taking first in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Brittany Fox finished first in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke for the WildCats who took first place in nine of the eleven events. Maggy Roza finished first in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. As a team, the WildCats took first in the 200 freestyle relay.

The WildCats will return to the pool Saturday when they travel to the College of Notre Dame of Maryland for a meet at 1:00 pm.
