Day 2 of events will continue Saturday morning

Radford, VA -- The Randolph College women's swim team competed in the finals of three events Friday night at the Dedmon Center on the campus of Radford University. Several WildCats broke their season-best times in the events. The WildCats sit in fifth place with 64 points through the first five events.
The WildCats finished sixth in 200 free relay with a season-best time of 1:52.26. In the 500 free Carly Hill finished in 33rd place with a time of 7:19.09, almost fifty seconds faster then her season best. Alina Herron also had a strong showing, finishing in 37th place and marking her best time at 8:14.69.
Rachel Carlson took 14th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:30.14, over two seconds faster than her season best. Erika Nye recorded 36th in the 50 free with a time of 35.10, besting her previous seed time of 35.39. In the final event of the night, the relay team of Brittany Fox, Bobbie LaFleur, Carlson, and Maggy Roza finished sixth with a time of 4:47.58. It was the best time in the relay all season for the WildCats, besting their previous time of 4:49.51 in the preliminaries.
Randolph will be back in the pool for the preliminaries of the next seven events Saturday morning. Results will be posted at the completion of the events.
