Campbell leads the WildCats from her #1 singles position

Salem, VA -- Washington and Lee University goes in search of its 19th conference title this weekend as the Generals open the 2009 ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament as the top seed. W&L has won the last six league crowns dating back to the 2003 campaign.

Virginia Wesleyan College commands the second seed while Bridgewater College holds down the third position. Emory and Henry College sits in the fourth slot while Randolph-Macon College and Guilford College maintain the fifth and sixth seeds, respectively. Randolph College plays from the seventh position, and Hollins University rounds out the field as the eighth seed.

The ODAC tournament will use a different format this season. Instead of each of the league's 11 squads competing in the event, the top eight teams qualify for the two-day affair at Washington and Lee. All eight places will be determined through a normal quarterfinal/semifinal/championship format plus a series of consolation matches.

Play is set to begin on Saturday, April 25, with each of the four quarterfinal matches as well as a pair of consolation matches featuring the four quarterfinal losing teams. Sunday includes each of the semifinal matches at 9:00 a.m. plus the championship match at 3:00 p.m. Consolation matches to determine the 7-8 places and the 5-6 places will also be played.
