Courtney Collier nets two goals in the win

Lynchburg, VA -- Sophomore Courtney Collier scored two goals, one being off a penalty kick, as the host Randolph College posted a 4-0 shutout win over Trinity College on Tuesday afternoon on the new track and field complex.
With the win Randolph improves to 2-2 overall on the year, while Trinity sees its overall mark slip to 1-2.
Collier struck first for the WildCats as she scored her first tally at the 34:17 mark of the first half. Just one minute later, first-year Amanda Cooper found the back of the net off an assist from fellow first-year Ashley Stevens to extend the WildCat lead to 2-0.
Late in the second half, Collier would be fouled inside the box and awarded a penalty kick. Collier would beat Tiger goalie Cristina Martinez to the high left side to give Randolph a comfortable 3-0 lead. First-year Brianne Roth would add one more score for Randolph off assists from Cooper and Stevens with just over seven minutes remaining in the contest.
Goalie Victoria Johnson recorded her first shutout of the year finishing with two saves on the afternoon. Randolph outshot Trinity 22-9, while holding a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Tigers were whistled for 10 total fouls, while the WildCats were penalized seven times.
Randolph will begin conference play Saturday when they welcome Emory and Henry College for an ODAC matchup at 3:00 p.m. on Randolph's Bermuda Fields.
