Women's Cross Country takes 6th at W&L Invitational

Randolph finished in 6th place in their first meet of the 2009 season

Lexington, VA -- The Randolph College Women's Cross Country team finished in sixth place at the Washington and Lee University Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Eight schools participated in the 5k run with a total of 75 runners.

Senior Ashley Haugh led the WildCats finishing with a time of 25:02 (36th place). First-year Lily Noguchi followed with a time of 25:29 (39th place) in her first collegiate run. Senior Bobbie LaFleur posted a time of 25:49 (43rd place), while fellow senior Katelin Shugart-Schmidt recorded a time of 27:31 (51st place).

Randolph will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Greensboro, NC for the Guilford College Cross Country Carnival scheduled for 10:15 a.m.
