Lynchburg, VA -- Randolph College netted two second half goals after a scoreless first half to post their first ODAC win of 2009 over Emory and Henry College Wednesday night at the new track and field complex.

With the win Randolph improves to 2-5-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Emory and Henry drops to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in ODAC matches.

The two squads would battle to a scoreless half after 45 minutes of play. Randolph sophomore midfielder Nick Hudson would pick a great time to cash in on his first goal of the season when he found the back of the net off an assist from first-year midfielder Nicholas Whisler to put the WildCats up 1-0 at the 59:19 mark. Junior forward Jonathon Bolton would find a ball which was deflected off of teammate Chris Geyer and beat Wasps goalie Daniel Mills to extend Randolph's lead to 2-0 with just under 10 minutes to play. It proved to be enough as the WildCats defense tightened and held on for an important conference home win.

The WildCats outshot Emory and Henry 18-4, while holding a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks. Randolph goalie Scott Zaring was outstanding in net finishing with one save recording the shutout. Mills made six stops for the Wasps.

Randolph will return to action Saturday when they host Hampden-Sydney College for an ODAC match at 6:00 p.m. during the college's Friends and Family weekend.
