Lynchburg, VA -- 110 minutes could not decide the outcome between visiting Washington and Lee University and Randolph College as the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie in ODAC play Saturday night.
With the tie Randolph sees its overall mark stand at 2-7-2 and 1-2-1 in ODAC play. W&L stands at 3-2-3 overall and 1-1-2 in conference matches.
David Phillips would give the Generals a 1-0 lead at the 63:05 mark of the second half when he found the back of the net off an assist from Drew Crowley. With just under fourteen minutes left to play, WildCat junior forward Eddy Ratianarivo controlled a loose ball in front of the net off a pass from junior Harry Young and beat Generals' goalie Ben Bartlett to tie the match up at 1-1.
From there, neither team could amount much offense, as both back lines flexed their muscle to keep the game tied 1-1. WildCat goalie Aaron Humphreys made several game-saving stops finishing with eight saves. Bartlett was equally as good recording five saves on the night.
W&L held a 13-9 advantage in shots, while holding a slim 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Generals were whistled for 12 fouls, while Randolph was penalized 10 times.
The WildCats continue their stretch of ODAC matches Tuesday when they travel to Greensboro, NC for a match against Guilford College scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
