Women's Tennis competes at ODAC Fall Championships

Roanoke, VA -- The Randolph College women's tennis team competed at the ODAC Fall Championships this weekend held on the campus of Hollins University. Bridgewater, Emory & Henry, Guilford, Hollins, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Sweet Briar, and Washington & Lee all participated in the two day event.

In singles competition flight H, sophomore Anne Morris scored a win over Raisha Kasaju of Hollins in the field of 16 by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Morris would fall in the quarterfinal to Washington and Lee's Jen Hall before dropping a match in the consolation round to Ann Roach (SBC) 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles competition, the team of senior Porsche Pugh/junior Shantel Rivera posted a win in quarterfinal play over SBC's Morgan Franke/Nicole Lee 8-3, then scored an 8-6 semifinal win over Hollins' Caitlyn Hoerr/Taylor Reedy to advance to the finals of flight D. Pugh/Rivera would then fall to Washington and Lee's Jen Hall/Elise Hansen, 8-2.

The tournament concludes fall play for Randolph, as the team remains idle until the spring season gets underway February 22nd at Mary Baldwin College.
