Ashley Lovegrove named High Point Rider of the Region

Charlottesville, VA -- The Randolph College Riding team finished fifth at the University of Virginia IHSA Show on Sunday.
Ashley Lovegrove took home High Point Rider honors with a first place finish in the open flat and a third place finish in the open fences. It marks the second straight competition Lovegrove has achieved the honor. Jonathan Brooks took fourth in the walk trot, while Brynne Gingras finished fifth in the same event. Alanna Mayernik captured sixth place in the intermediate flat, and Jennifer Fowler finished fourth in the novice fences.
UVA captured High Point College honors, while Hollins University followed with Reserve honors.
In Regional competition, Randolph finished the year in fourth place. Lovegrove earned High Point Rider of the Region, qualifying for IHSA Nationals and will compete for the Individual National Championship. Three WildCats qualified for Zones including Jennifer Brown (2nd novice fences), Lexi Mandrakes (7th open flat) and Lovegrove (1st open fences, 3rd open flat).
Randolph will return to competition Saturday, March 7 when they travel to compete in the House Mountain Horse Show at 12:00 p.m.
