Lynchburg, VA- For the third time in four years, R-MWC riding coach J.T. Tallon has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coach of the Year in Riding.
Tallon was named ODAC Coach of the Year in 2005, 2003 and 2002.
Under Tallon's direction, the R-MWC riding team captured its third ODAC title in four years on Friday at Hollins University. The WildCats topped the Generals from Washington and Lee University, who finished in second place, by two points. R-MWC won both classes of over fences and finished second on the flats. The Wildcats won the title outright in 2003 and tied for the top spot in 2002.
Additionally, sophomore Codi Lambert was named the High Point Rider at ODAC Championships. R-WMC placed three riders on the All-ODAC Team , Lambert, Michelle Huizenga, and Amy Avitabile, for their outstanding performance at the championships.
Randolph-Macon Woman’s College is a private, four-year, liberal arts college dedicated to the education of women since its founding in 1891. The athletic program currently carries eight intercollegiate sports including basketball, field hockey, riding, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball. The WildCat program participates in the NCAA Division III and competes in the nationally respected Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
