Cross and Dalton will lead the WildCats against Southern Virginia looking to break the school record for wins in a single season

Salem, VA -- Randolph College Softball standouts junior Lindsay Cross and first year Teresa Dalton were named ODAC Player and Pitcher of the week respectively as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. The WildCats went 4-2 during the week, including collecting their 12th win of the year. The 12 wins ties a school record for wins in a single season.

Cross led the WildCats offensively from her first base position batting .588 during the week on way to the Player of the Week recognition. She totaled two doubles and two home runs, and a team-high eight RBI. Cross is currently on a 10 game hitting streak dating back to March 21. On the season, Cross is hitting .459 with seven doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI. She leads the WildCats in all three categories.

Dalton has been very steady on the mound this season for Randolph, and this week was no different. The first-year pitcher recorded three wins, including a five-hit 2-0 shutout win against ODAC foe Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday. Dalton went the distance in four of the five games in which she appeared during the week, striking out 10 hitters allowing seven earned runs. She finished the week with a 1.69 ERA. On the season, Dalton boasts a 3.37 ERA with eight wins in 16 appearances. She has gone the distance in 11 games this season, striking out 62 batters in the process.

Both Cross and Dalton will lead Randolph into play tomorrow when the WildCats travel to non-conference opponent Southern Virginia University for a doubleheader at 7:00 p.m.
