Cross earns the ODAC weekly honor for the second consecutive week

Salem, VA -- Randolph College Softball standout junior Lindsay Cross was named ODAC Softball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. It marks the second consecutive week that Cross earned the honor.

Cross continues to due major damage with the bat leading the ODAC in five different offensive statistical categories. She ranks first in batting average (.493), slugging percentage (.841), on base percentage (.545), RBIs (26) and total bases (58). Cross already holds the school record for home runs in a single season, currently at 5.

For the week, Cross batted a blistering .750 with seven runs scored, two doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 RBI. The WildCats went 5-1 during the week with ODAC wins against Sweet Briar College (twice) and Roanoke College (once). Randolph also posted a non-conference sweep against Southern Virginia University, where Cross went 6-8 with seven RBI. Randolph currently sits in fifth place with four ODAC games left on the schedule. The top eight teams in the conference will advance to the ODAC Championship tournament held at the Moyer Complex in Salem, Va. on April 24th-26th.

Cross will lead the WildCats back into action Wednesday when they welcome Guilford College for an important ODAC doubleheader scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
