Softball ready for ODAC Championship Tournament

Randolph looks to make a deep run in their first trip to the ODAC Tournament since the new eight-team format

Salem, VA -- The Randolph College Softball team will make its first trip to the ODAC Championship Tournament since 2001 Friday when the WildCats play Guilford College at the Moyer Sports Complex. The WildCats enter the tournament for the first time in program history since the adoption of the new eight-team format. Randolph earned the sixth seed and will face the third seeded Quakers in their first contest. Guilford swept the WildCats earlier this season at Randolph 11-3 and 8-1 respectively. Randolph looks to exact some revenge while making school history during the three-day event.

Lynchburg College and Bridgewater College own the top two ranks in the new eight-team tournament setup. Roanoke College occupies the fourth seed, while Virginia Wesleyan College holds down the fifth spot. Eastern Mennonite University and Randolph-Macon College finished with identical regular season conference records. The Royals earn the seventh seed thanks to its head-to-head tie-breaker with the Yellow Jackets.
