Junior standout adds to post-season accolades
|
Starkville, MS -- Randolph College Softball standout Lindsay Cross has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Tuesday. The honor comes just four days after Cross received ODAC Player of the Year honors for her outstanding play this season. Cross was an at-large selection on the First Team of the Atlantic Region.
Cross led the WildCats with a blistering .491 batting average and .755 slugging percentage from her first base position during the season. Cross ranked in the top 50 nationally among Division III players in three different offensive categories. She ranked 19th in batting average and 49th in slugging percentage in the NCAA Division III rankings. Her .538 on-base percentage was good for 31st in the nation as well. The Asheboro, NC native also broke Randolph school records for home runs, doubles and hits in 2009.
