A
former all-American swimmer should have a lot of insight on
what it takes to be a champion.
Head coach for the WildCat swim team, Donna Hodgert offers
just that. As a former competitor at Sweet Briar College (where
she completed a B.A. in Spanish and international studies),
Coach Hodgert earned her all-American title, and she takes
what she learned as an athlete to her role as coach.
Hodgert has been associated with the Randolph swimming program
since 1997, when she began serving as assistant coach. She
has served as the head coach since 2000. During her tenure,
the WildCats have established themselves as one of the top
teams in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC),
finishing third in the conference the past three years. In
2004, Hodgert was named the ODAC Coach of the Year.
